At Heed, we believe better internal communication is the foundation of a high performing organisation. But we also know that “better” looks different across industries, departments, and teams.
That’s why we’re launching a new research project:
The State of Internal Comms 2025: Challenges, Change & the Future of Work.
Over the next three months, we’ll be speaking with 20 internal communication professionals—from HR leaders to IT heads—to understand how their roles are evolving, what tools they’re using, and where the real pain points are.
Our goal is simple: to listen, learn, and shine a light on the everyday challenges and wins happening behind the scenes of modern internal comms.
What We’re Asking
In our conversations, we’re exploring:
- Where internal comms professionals spend the bulk of their time today
- The most repetitive or manual parts of their role
- How their responsibilities have shifted in recent years
- The software they rely on (and where it falls short)
- How AI is beginning to influence their workflows
- Which tasks they’d most like to automate
- Where communication breakdowns tend to occur
- How they measure internal comms success
What We’ll Do With It
All findings will be compiled into a formal report and shared publicly. We’ll also be presenting key insights at one of the industry’s leading events:
🗓 2025 HR Technology & Expo Conference
📍 Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV, USA
📅 September 16–18, 2025
This conference is one of the world’s largest HR tech gatherings, showcasing innovation in tools and platforms that shape the future of internal communication. We’re proud to bring real-world perspectives from our research to this global stage.
